A State Government Department is seeking a motivated and customer-focused Maintenance Support Officer to join their team in Mackay on a temporary basis. This role plays a key part in supporting maintenance operations through high-quality customer service, effective stakeholder engagement, and accurate administrative support.

About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing efficient, high-quality customer service to customers and stakeholders
• Managing enquiries and supporting service delivery in a KPI-driven environment
• Building and maintaining positive relationships with industry partners, local suppliers, and internal and external stakeholders
• Ensuring timely and effective coordination of services and information
• Demonstrating strong interpersonal skills, including negotiation, de-escalation, and dispute resolution as required
• Undertaking general administrative duties, including record management and data entry
• Preparing and maintaining accurate documentation, reports, and system records
• Actively contributing to team culture, collaboration, and internal innovation initiatives
About You
You are a reliable and customer-focused administration professional who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and contributing to a positive team culture.
You will bring:
• Demonstrated experience in customer support or customer service roles
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment
• High attention to detail and accuracy when handling documentation and records
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• An understanding of leadership as an individual contributor, aligned with the Queensland Government Leadership Competencies Framework (highly regarded)
